31 Day Challenge: Day 9, Rainbow

Today's theme is Rainbow.

I kinda took the easy way out on this one. I love to do nail art, but I haven't been feeling inspired lately. I've also been working on my other hobby crocheting as I'm trying to make a bunch of stuff by the end of the month that will be sold for charity for a group I was in in college.  Anyways, onto today's mani!

I choose to use Butter London The Black Knight because the glitter in it reminded me of a rainbow.  I used 2 coats for these pictures. The polish was thick so I added thinner, but it seemed to keep getting thick on me. I closed up the bottle in between coats so I'm not sure what the problem was.

31 Day Challenge: Day 8, Metallic

Today's challenge is Metallic.

For this mani, I did 2 coats of Zoya Zuza. Make sure to use plenty of base coat with Zuza! It stained my nails. Luckily, I was able to get off most of the staining by scrubbing with whitening toothpaste.  I followed this up with a glitter gradient of OPI Crown Me Already.

31 Day Challenge: Day 7, Black and White

Today's challenge is Black and White.

I knew exactly what I was going to do for this challenge. I decided to use by O.P.I. Spotted that an awesome friend from France got for me. O.P.I. Spotted was released as part of the Spiderman collection in France instead of the normal teal crackle. I think it was also released in other countries, but I can't be sure.

I used a super thin layer of Spotted over 3 coats of FingerPaints Paper Mache. I followed it up with INM Northern Lights Hologram Top Coat in Silver.

You can see some varying effects here. On my index finger, I used a bit thicker coat than on the others. I used the thinnest coats of my middle and ring fingers. I think I like the pinkie the best though.

31 Day Challenge: Day 6, Violet

Today's challenge is Violet.

I decided to go simple for today and went with Revlon Scandalous (previously know as Facets of Fuchsia). I used 3 thin coats of the polish for these pictures just to make sure everything was covered. I followed it with 1 coat of top coat. It wasn't gritty, but from the pictures I probably should have used another one.

You can see the shininess better in the sunlight photo, though I think the shade photo is a bit more true to color.

31 Day Challenge: Day 5, Blue

Today's challenge is Blue.

I started off this mani with 2 coats of Illamasqua Phallic. I've had this polish on my wishlist for a while and was lucky enough to get it from a friend in my birthday group! It's a super dark blue with tons of blue shimmer that shows up well in the sunlight.

I also added 1 coat China Glaze I'm Not Lion to my accent fingers. In the sun pictures you can see the awesome holographic effect.

Finally, I finished up this mani with some stamping.  My pinkie finger I used BM 301 with Barry M Gold Foil, my middle finger I used Mash 22 with Barry M Silver Foil, and I used Born Pretty M71 with Color Club Lumni-icecent for my index finger.

In these two sunlight pictures, you can see the shimmer from Phallic and as well as the holographic effect from I'm Not Lion.

31 Day Challenge: Day 4, Green

Today's challenge is the color green.

I'm actually really excited about today because I love green nail polish. I also got a new green polish in the mail not that long ago so that made it easy to decide what to use.

Hare Polish Asteroid Turf is so unique. It's grass green creme with tons of perfectly suspended bright pink hexagons.  I used 3 thin coats for these pictures.  Application was very good. I didn't have to dig out glitter or dab them on, everything flowed very nicely. Dry time was good too!

Hare Polish can be purchased at her Etsy shop or through Llarowe.

31 Day Challenge: Day 3, Yellow

The theme for today's challenge is Yellow.
I don't own many yellows (I think it's only 3 as a matter of fact), but I totally thought that Butter London Bumster still fit the bill. I managed to snag this polish when Butter London did a deal not too long ago where all polishes were 40% off. Since I'm a sucker for the dusky/fall colors, I had to get this one.
I added on this very dainty gold nail art stickers that I had. They were a bit hard to photograph since the gold color was a bit close to Bumster.

This last picture is the most color accurate photograph of Bumster. It's this really nice light mustardy yellow with some hints of tan thrown in. I LOVE these ugly colors. I'm too scared to wear them for my clothing, but on nails they are a small risk. Plus I think they look great with my skin tone.

31 Day Challenge: Day 2, Orange

The theme for today's challenge is Orange.

I did 2 coats of OPI Chop-Sticking To My Story. Chop-Sticking is a wonderful pumkin-y orange that really makes me think of fall. I love fall colors so this is going to become one of my favorite polishes.
I followed that up with 2 coats of Dollish Polish The Koopa King which is a super amazing glitter with tons of different kinds in it. Seriously, check out the closeup below.

31 Day Challenge: Day 1, Red

Today is the start of the challenge! Whoo hoo! The first day is red.

Red is not usually a color I find myself drawn to except for nail art.  I did, however, get this awesome red from one of the ladies in my birthday group (I should have a picture of all the polishes I got in the next few days). For this mani, I used 2 coats of Zoya Isla. It's a wonderfully pigmented darker red with a glow. What's nice about this color is that it doesn't stain your skin when you remove it!
I was going to do some stamping, but it just wasn't cooperating with me so I put on 2 coats of Dollish Polish It's a Me Mario! on my ring and thumb fingers as accents. Dollish Polish makes some amazing glitters. They are beautifully suspended, very dense, go on well without having to use the dabbing method, and are pretty affordable. I have a few Dollish Polishes that I'll be showing in you this month.
