31 Day Challenge: Day 16, Tribal Print

Today's theme is Tribal Nails.

I was a bit nervous about today's challenge since I've never done tribal nails before, but I think it turned out great!  While I've been doing this challenge, I have also been working through my untrieds (2 challenges in 1!) so I knew the 2 colors I hadn't tried yet from the China Glaze Safari Collection would be perfect to use for today.

I started with a base coat of China Glaze Exotic Encounters. It's practically I one coater. I only used a second coat to hide the massive bubbling I got in the first (which I'm totally blaming on the weather and not at all on this polish).

Next, I added details using China Glaze I Herd That, Rimmel Black Satin, and Sally Hansen Whirlwind White.

This pictures had to be taken using flash because it's raining today and shows no sign of stopping.

31 Day Challenge: Day 15: Delicate Print

Today's theme is Delicate Print.

Ugh, not happy about today's mani. I couldn't get the stupid plate to stamp despite trying 3 different black polishes, two of which are my go-to blacks for stamping.

Anyways for this fail, I started off with 3 coats of Zoya Loretta. It's a super sheer pink polish that's perfect for French manis. I like using it as a base coat for "naked" manis because it hides staining and makes my nails looks perfect. Then I stamped used BM 317 and some blacks. Finally, I topped it off with Essie As Gold As It Gets. The Essie is kinda boring, and I have other polishes that are similar so I think I'm going to get rid of it.

For you (not) viewing pleasure, here's the one picture of today's mani that I forced myself to pick. Ugh.

31 Day Challenge: Day 14, Flowers

Today's theme is Flowers.

I am really excited for today's theme because there is a ton you can do with flowers! You can stamp, freehand, or use stickers. You can make them realistic or abstract, romantic or funky.

For today, I started with a base coat of 2 coats of China Glaze Light As Air and 1 coat of Dollish Polish Hylian Princess from the Legend of Zelda Duo.

The rest was freehanded. First I added the leaves which were done with OPI Don't Mess With OPI and highlighted with OPI Stranger Tides. Then I made a circle with the main flower color, Sinful Colors Amethyst. Finally, I highlighted the flowers with Rimmel Wild Orchid and then Rimmel Wild Orchid mixed with white.

31 Day Challenge: Day 13, Animal Print

Today's challenge is Animal Print.

I decided to go in a different direction for today's challenge. Actually, I've done that a lot which is pretty indicative of my personality.  As much as I LOVE leopard print nails, today I went with something I haven't tried before: butterfly print!

I started with a base coat of Nubar Absolute. It's a light blue holo. It applied beautiful. Since I tend to use thinner coats, I needed 3. Then I used Rimmel Black Satin and Rimmel French White to add in the details to make it a butterfly. Enjoy!

31 Day Challenge: Day 12, Stripes

Today's challenge is Stripes.

I was originally going to do something like this for today's challenge, but after I picked out my colors I decided to change it up and I'm glad I did.

I started off with 3 coats of OPI The "It" Color. Then I used striping tape to mark off the rays and put on 1 coat of Zoya Arizona. I love the look that turned out. It's like a sun and super appropriate for summer.

31 Day Challenge: Day 11, Polka Dots

Today's theme is Polka Dots.

What I love about challenges it that they are pretty open to interpretation and it's nice to see everyone's different ideas about how to interpret the theme of challenges.

Instead of doing the standard polka dots with a dotting tool or stamping them on, I decided to go simple.

I started with a base coat of Zoya Happi. It's a really nice pink with this sort of duochrome gold effect. While it is a nice pink, pink is soooo not my color. On top, I layered 1-2 coats of Lynnderella Connect the Dots to add in my polka dots.

This photo is the light coming through my screen door, but I kinda like the effect of it so I'm adding it onto here.

31 Day Challenge: Day 10, Gradient

Today's theme is Gradient.

For today, I started with a base coat of 2 coats of Sinful Colors Leap Flog. I love this color. It's a forest green mixed with some grey. When I saw it, I knew I had to have it because 1) I love green polish, 2) I love grey polish, 3) I love those dusky/dark/fall colors, and 4) It was on sale for $.99.

Next, I sponged on Sinful Colors Slate. It's a medium grey with tons of shimmer. It's thinner than I thought it would be so the gradient effect is more subtle. Finally, I stamped using BM 306 and Sinful Colors Black on Black.to bring everything together.

I swear that's not a dent on my middle finger. It must just be the lighting mixed with the reflection of the shimmer from Slate.

31 Day Challenge: Day 9, Rainbow

Today's theme is Rainbow.

I kinda took the easy way out on this one. I love to do nail art, but I haven't been feeling inspired lately. I've also been working on my other hobby crocheting as I'm trying to make a bunch of stuff by the end of the month that will be sold for charity for a group I was in in college.  Anyways, onto today's mani!

I choose to use Butter London The Black Knight because the glitter in it reminded me of a rainbow.  I used 2 coats for these pictures. The polish was thick so I added thinner, but it seemed to keep getting thick on me. I closed up the bottle in between coats so I'm not sure what the problem was.

31 Day Challenge: Day 8, Metallic

Today's challenge is Metallic.

For this mani, I did 2 coats of Zoya Zuza. Make sure to use plenty of base coat with Zuza! It stained my nails. Luckily, I was able to get off most of the staining by scrubbing with whitening toothpaste.  I followed this up with a glitter gradient of OPI Crown Me Already.

31 Day Challenge: Day 7, Black and White

Today's challenge is Black and White.

I knew exactly what I was going to do for this challenge. I decided to use by O.P.I. Spotted that an awesome friend from France got for me. O.P.I. Spotted was released as part of the Spiderman collection in France instead of the normal teal crackle. I think it was also released in other countries, but I can't be sure.

I used a super thin layer of Spotted over 3 coats of FingerPaints Paper Mache. I followed it up with INM Northern Lights Hologram Top Coat in Silver.

You can see some varying effects here. On my index finger, I used a bit thicker coat than on the others. I used the thinnest coats of my middle and ring fingers. I think I like the pinkie the best though.
