Simple Floral Nail Art | Cupcake Polish Sand by Me

For today's post, I created a simply floral mani based upon a mani by @manal (formally @naildecor).

I used Cupcake Polish Sand by Me as the base for this mani. It's super pretty holographic orange polish with pink shimmer. The tone of this orange is definitely unique, and I really like it.

To create the design, I created a dotted 5 pedal flower using white. Then I layered a white smaller flower on top and finally added a gold dot to the center.

I really love how this mani turned out! Sand by Me is super pretty in artificial lights (photos above) and natural lighting (the last photo below).

Zoya Shelby and Cupcake Polish Icing

Today's swatch is Zoya Shelby.

I'm not a huge pink polish fan, and frankly this one isn't convincing me otherwise. It's very much a bubblegum sort of pink creme polish. The formula isn't great either and needs 3 coats. Mostly I use this for nail art, but I decided that I should swatch it as well.

Since I don't like it on its own, I decided to add a holographic topper, Cupcake Polish Icing. The effect is gorgeous! Most holographic toppers having a greying element due to the nature of holographic pigment. That's just fine by me though! The grey factor toned down the bubblegum pink color, and the holographic effect is beautiful of course.

Mother's Day Nail Art: Holographic Gradient

I hope you had a good Mother's Day yesterday, whether you're a mom or a mom like figure or have a mom or mom like figure in your life.

For today's manicure, I did a super simple holographic gradient.

A few years ago, I had a custom polish made with Daily Hues Nail Lacquer (now closed). I had a bottle made for my mom and I. My mom adores holographic polish so of course that was the finish of the custom polish. The maker and I decided on the super cute name Mom! You're Grape! to go with the color of the polish.

I combined the custom polish with Cupcake Polish Look at You Go-Go.

Cupcake Polish Track Me Down Floral Nail Art

Cupcake Polish Track Me Down is a gorgeous black holographic polish. It applies perfectly in one coat. Unfortunely, it is discontinued now so you'll have to look for it in destashes.

However, you could do this nail art look with any black holographic. It's a super easy look, and I used a dotting tool for it.

Green Mani March: Day 1

So it's been over 3 years since I have posted to this blog. But I've decided to return! I enjoy sharing my nail art and have enjoyed posting to my blog in the past. I'm really hoping to make this a regular thing again.

For my first post back, I'm starting a new series! I'm not sure if I've talked about it here in the past, but I absolutely love green nail polish. It's one of my favorite colors to wear, and I own quite a few shades in various finishes. Not as many as some though :) I tend toward minimalism a bit so I try to keep my collection down.

Since I love green polish and March makes me think of green with St. Patrick's day and spring, I'll be focusing on my love of green polishes this month.

This first mani uses OPI Don't Mess with OPI and Cupcake Polish Delishiously Jaded.

OPI Don't Mess with OPI is a pretty old polish and is from the 2011 Texas Collection. You could use another green creme polish if you wanted.

Cupcake Polish Delishiously Jaded is a gorgeous holographic green polish. It almost covered in one coat too! It also apparently has a blue shift, but I was blinded by the holo.

I used both of these to create this simple mani. The half moon element was freehanded.
