Born Pretty Store Review: Studs and Decals, Oh My!

I love it when Born Pretty Store/ sends stuff for me to review! They have great stuff and at a cheap price.

I received three different items this.
The first are these pearlized studs. Here's a close of just the studs. They are plenty of them and looks to be like three different sizes.

I used two of the sizes on top of Funky Fingers Kingston for this bright, fun mani. The studs have flat backs so they stick nicely to your nails.

Next I have these full size floral water decals. They apply much like other water decals so it was easy to get on. Once they dried a bit, I used acetone to gently dissolve around the edge. I applied topcoat to protect them as well. They take a bit longer to dry than other water decals likely because they are so big, hence the tiny little nick on my index. I love the image and the detail that I could in no way is freehand.
I do have to say while their are 10 decals in each sheet (one sheet per order), I had to use two for my number as they are pretty narrow. Still, they make a gorgeous accent nail like I paired up here with Sinful Colors Solar Flare.

Lastly, I have these adorable owl water decals. 

They are soooo cute and look great over my base of Button London Bumster.

June Nail Art Challenge, Day 15: Father's Day

Today's challenge was sorta tough for me. I searched Father's Day Nails on google for ideas, but I got a lot of manis featuring ties (something neither my husband or dad wear!) or sports (which neither are super into).

In the end, I decided to use my Cheeky CH49 stamping plate which works because my husband loves pirates! He's dressed as one for Halloween a few times plus on Talk Like A Pirate Day he makes a special themed dinner for his clients at work (he work at a group home) and talks like a pirate.

The base color is Butter London All Hail the Queen. The stamping color is some sparkling brown Sally Hansen that I got on clearance for 10¢ at Kmart who's name I'm too lazy to look for now ;)

Butter London All Hail The Queen

I have a super simple yet pretty mani for you today.  I recently got Butter London All Hail the Queen from a little sale a friend had. It wasn't on my wishlist, but I love holos so I'm not sure why it wasn't!

All Hail the Queen is a super pretty nude (yes, nude!) holo. The holo here is not in-your-face like the Color Clubs are so it makes it perfect to wear to formal/business-related occasions.

It was on with 2 easy coats and dry time was good. I used a base coat which didn't make application difficult and a top coat which didn't dull the holo at all.

I decided to add a small gold metal star stud as an easy accent without covering up All Hail the Queen.  I put a drop of nail glue down, placed my stud on top, and used a dotting tool to push it down until the glue was mostly set.

It is lifted up a bit as you can see in the pictures below, but honestly not enough to bother me. I know it might bother some others though.

31 Day Challenge, Part 2!: Day 16, Tribal Print

I love doing tribal manis! The first time I did one was last August during my first 31 day Challenge. I really liked the way that one came out, but I wanted to change it up for this challenge.

I was inspired by this pin, except I decided to go with different patterns for my other nails.  I was a bit afraid of doing the dream catcher, but it was actually really easy!

For my base coat, I used two coats of Butter London Bumster. Next I added on the designs using Zoya Dree (green), Rimmel Black Satin, and Rimmel French White Nail Tip Liner.

Werewolf Nails X 2!

I have a bonus post for you today! You get two manis in one.

For work today, my husband decided to dress up as a werewolf and have fun along with his clients. He really surprised me by asking if I would help paint his nails! Whoo-hoo! Here's what I came up with.

Pretty good, right?! I started with a base coat of Essie Brooch the Subject. Then I sponged on Sinful Colors Nirvana, OPI Suzi Loves Cowboys, Rimmel Black Satin, Zoya Dove, and Butter London Bumster. I also purposely added some polish to make it seem like he had been digging in the dirt.

Here he is in his whole costume. My husband has thick curly hair so I helped it out a bit with some gel. I also dirtied up his face, neck, and arms with black eyeshadow and drew on his his nose. I even made the shirt he's wearing!

And for werewolf nails part 2, you have my nails for today! I don't have a Halloween party to go to, and I'm pretty uncomfortably pregnant at this point so I won't be dressing up. But that doesn't mean my nails can't have fun like always!

I used Girly Bits Howl at the Moon for this mani. The base is a sort of dark blue/purple jelly base and then the glitter is large/medium/small gold hexes and gold micro glitter.  I chose to wear this on its own rather than layer it because I like the different depths of glitter you get. I used 3 coats for this mani.

31 Day Challenge: Day 9, Rainbow

Today's theme is Rainbow.

I kinda took the easy way out on this one. I love to do nail art, but I haven't been feeling inspired lately. I've also been working on my other hobby crocheting as I'm trying to make a bunch of stuff by the end of the month that will be sold for charity for a group I was in in college.  Anyways, onto today's mani!

I choose to use Butter London The Black Knight because the glitter in it reminded me of a rainbow.  I used 2 coats for these pictures. The polish was thick so I added thinner, but it seemed to keep getting thick on me. I closed up the bottle in between coats so I'm not sure what the problem was.

31 Day Challenge: Day 3, Yellow

The theme for today's challenge is Yellow.

I don't own many yellows (I think it's only 3 as a matter of fact), but I totally thought that Butter London Bumster still fit the bill. I managed to snag this polish when Butter London did a deal not too long ago where all polishes were 40% off. Since I'm a sucker for the dusky/fall colors, I had to get this one.
I added on this very dainty gold nail art stickers that I had. They were a bit hard to photograph since the gold color was a bit close to Bumster.

This last picture is the most color accurate photograph of Bumster. It's this really nice light mustardy yellow with some hints of tan thrown in. I LOVE these ugly colors. I'm too scared to wear them for my clothing, but on nails they are a small risk. Plus I think they look great with my skin tone.
