Lollipop/sucker

For day 5 of my Food Nail Art Series, I did some lollipops/suckers. This isn't as much of a fail as the pizza, but still it's kinda bad.  I do really love my index/pinkie fingers as you'll see in just a second.

The base in Sunful Color Dream On, and I layered it with that gorgeous super popular color Lynnderella Connect the Dots that I just got in the mail the other day. I love the layering and cannot wait to see what other beautiful combos I can come up with.

As for the sucker, I think where I went wrong was the stripes on it. I redid those nails each twice and decided I was done messing with it.

Sigh. I'm really hoping I break out of this funk with nail art that seem to be having and soon! Or I'm going to have to take a break from my food series for a bit.

Pizza Fail

For Day 4 of my food nail art series, I decided to do Pizza.  I haven't used my acrylic paints in a while so I decided to use those. Folks, my paint is too thin and I rushed this. So what you have is a blobbed on mess that topcoat couldn't even save. Here I share with you my fail, and plead with you to get quality paint and to be patient.

Monday Mani: Butterflies

Today's Monday Mani theme at Polish-aholics Anonymous is Butterflies. I thought I would go simple with this one and so I decided to stamp.  I did a flower on my pinkie, and it sucked so I didn't do anymore. Even though I haven't stamped in a while, this still turned out pretty good.  The base polish on this is 2 coats of A-England Galahad.  The stamping is Mash Plate 18 with Wet N Wild Black Creme.

Sushi Nails

For Day 3 of my Food Nail Art Series, I went with sushi. I had another design that I did, but I just didn't like it. Maybe I'll try again another time.

There are several sushi nail designs out there, and I was inspired by a few but mostly this one by My Polished Nails. She doesn't have many followers on her blog, but she does have great stuff so I advise you all to go check here out.

For the base of these nails, I use China Glaze Riveting from the Capitol Colors Collection. It's a gorgeous super easy to apply color.  I used 2 coats just to be sure. I won't name the other polishes I used since I mixed colors to get the ones I wanted.

Here are closeups of each nail.

Cookies and Milk

For Day 2 of my Food Nail Art Series, I was inspired by these milk nails and the cookies on these nails.  Using those two ideas, I came up with these super awesome nails. My 8th grade girls were in love, and so am I. I think this is probably some of the best nail art I've ever done.

Monday Mani: Food!!!

Today's Monday Mani theme at Polish-aholics Anonymous is Food. I was looking through all of my saved pictures at Pinterest for ideas and found that I had a hard time picking just one. So I decided to pick all of them! LOL. Not all at one time though. I loved doing the Green series so I've decided to work on a nail art series about Food, which is another of my passions.

Today I choose to do popcorn nails.

The base is 2 coats of Sally Hansen Whirlwind White. Then I used Zoya Sooki for the red stripes. For the actual popcorn, I dotted on 3 dots in a cluster using Maybelline Sunshine. Then I swirled in some white to add dimension.

Look, I even did my right hand and have a picture for you all! (Please ignore the super short index finger--it broke super low. And the awkward pose--it's hard to take a picture of your right hand with a DSLR.)

St. Patrick's Day Manicure

Today is the last day of my Green series as well as St. Patrick's Day. Enjoy the day for all of those who are celebrating. My sister-in-law is living in Ireland for graduate school and is taking a trip to Dublin for the day. I'm sure she'll have great fun! As for me, I ran errands this morning and now I'm relaxing for a bit before I go babysit. Boring day, but babysitting money means more polish!

Anyways, onto the nails! This idea was inspired by several designs I've seen on blogs/Google search/Pinterest.  The base coat is a Sally Girl Mini from Sally Beauty Supply.  The color is called Lime, and it even smells like it! It's a beautiful bright green with some very light shimmer.

On with the pictures!

The rest of the colors used are Zoya Sooki (red), Wet n Wild Sunny Side Up (orange), Maybelline Sunshine (yellow), OPI Don't Mess with OPI (green), Sinful Colors Why Not (blue), Rimmel Wild Orchid (purple), Rimmel Black Satin, Rimmel French Tip White Nail Liner (white for cloud), China Glaze Blonde Bombshell (gold), and Milani Jewel FX Gold.

St. Patrick's Day Plaid

Here is day 3 of my green series in honor of my favorite polish color as well as St. Patrick's Day.  I tried out a St. Patrick's Day plaid.

The base coat is 2 coats of OPI Don't Mess with OPI. For the plaid design I used Rimmel French White Nail Tip Liner, Sinful Colors Nail Art Time Off (black), and Wet N Wild Sunny Side Up (orange).  The white and black were both striping colors, and I used a small paintbrush to put on the orange.

I REALLY love how this turned out! I was inspired by several plaid designs I have seen and was happy that i was able to make this look how I had pictured it in my mind.

Monday Mani: Pets in the Photo

Today is the 2nd day of my Green series in honor of all the greens in my stash and St. Patrick's Day.
This design was inspired by these French army nails at Polish Art Addiction.  To stay on theme, I used only greens (and yes, teal counts as green!).

I also combined this with the Monday Mani theme at Polish-aholics Anonymous: Pets in the Photo.  All pictures were taken with my iPhone because my cat decided to lay on me so I was able to get some cute
photos!

My base coat is 2 coats of OPI Stranger Tides, a beautiful murky military-esque green.  For the French tip, I used Nicole by OPI Khloe Had a Lam-Lam, a dark teal that is one of my favorites.  The dots were made using OPI Don't Mess with OPI.

I didn't realize until typing up this post that all of my polishes were from OPI! It's just a coincidence.  OPI is by no means my favorite brand, but they do make some great green polishes.

This is my baby, Ari. She's 4 1/2 years old and spoiled rotten.  She loves napping, knocking things off the counter, playing with boxes, and chasing her stuffed puppy.  Her favorite foods are shredded cheese, ice cream, Shamrock shakes, yogurt, tortilla chips, and fried chicken.

I had to include this one just because her face looks so goofy!

A-England Dragon

Today, I have the last of my A-Englands to show you. They are more holographic polishes made by the company, but I only purchased four.

So this is the end of my mini A-England series, but the beginning of a new series: Green!  I love green polish so much, and it's very fitting since St. Patrick's Day is coming up too. (I'm a wee bit Irish!).

A-England Tristam

Continuing on with my A-England series, I have Tristam for you today.  The color is dark blue holographic.  Application and all that jazz was wonderful so I won't bore you with the details.  Just enjoy these photos!

Both pictures were taken outside on a cloudy day so I did use flash as well.

Monday Mani: Sun, Moon, Stars

I decided to incorporate my mini-theme of A-England with this week's Monday Mani theme at Polish-aholics Anonymous. I choose A-England Lady of the Lake as my base, although Tristam would have been a most fitting choice.

I love holographics, and A-England sure does make some nice ones. Beautiful application and color. I used 2 coats for this just because I found some spots that were lighter and I wanted to make sure everything was covered up.

It wasn't super sunny the day I took these pictures so you can't see the holo effect as well as I wish.

Then using my Migi nail part pens, I drew on some stars and a moon on my ring finger. I was in a bit of a rush so I don't think it looks as good as it could have. I will definitely revisit this idea in the future.

A-England St. George

Not too long ago, I received 5 A-Englands in the mail from Llarowe.  They are such beautiful colors so even though I have other untrieds to use, I decided to use these first!
I will be posting a mini A-Englands series here.

I knew I had to have this color because I love greens and holographic nail polishes. This picture is outside and in the sun and you can really see the gorgeous holographic effect here. Drool.  Here you can see St. George is a dark-ish green with some big splashes of teal. Without the holo effect, it would remind me of Nicole by OPI Khloe Had a Lam-Lam.

This one is still outside but when a cloud passed by. You can still see the holo effect, but it's not as present. Here St. George seems shows a more of a forest green.

Not only does this polish look pretty, but application was wonderful in 1 very easy coat. I had very minimal cleanup to do here.

I really love this polish. You all should pick this one up when you get a chance!
